OS-tans.moe is a site about OS-tans that is also open to original OS-tan characters and some characters often associated with OS-tans if they fulfill some conditions. This page provides the criteria to decide whether an article can have its place on the OS-tans.moe Wiki. To be admissible, the article should at least be about one of the following:

  • A Moe Personification of an Operating System;
    • The character should be well established (examples: Classic Futaba Channel or Madobe OS-tans), or have been published a long time ago (before the Madobe era is a good reference though not a strict threshold) (example: Magical Toko);
    • It can be an Original Character made by yourself if the character has a well defined design and personality, and existing uploadable visual artwork. Only a page directly about the Original Character is allowed;
  • A page to explain or detail the Universe in which an admissible (non-original) character belongs to (description, lore, character list,...);
  • A notable character belonging to such Universe (examples: Dr. Norton, Claudia Madobe, who are not OS Personifications);
  • A notable derivative of an admissible (non-original) character (examples: Trouble Windows USA Personifications, who are not Moe Characters);
  • A notable event involving admissible (non-original) characters (examples: Akihabara Moe Characters Contest, ComiKets featuring Futaba Channel OS-tan Merchandise);
  • A non-original merchandise or media featuring at least an admissible (non-original) character (examples: any OS-tan merchandise released by Windows 7 Mania/Navi+);
  • An organization or place that is the source of admissible (non-original) characters (example: Futaba Channel), or made admissible merchandise (example: Windows Navi+);
  • An Operating System that at least an admissible non-original character or two Original Characters personify;
    • They may have Subpages presenting aspects of the OS that could help understand existing designs or inspire creators to design new admissible characters (default Wallpapers Gallery, description of built-in Themes and Screensavers,...);
  • A Company developing such Operating System.

If none of these criteria is satisfied, your article will likely not fit this Wiki and be deleted. If you believe that your article in this situation should be admissible, you can still open a discussion on the Forum.

Many characters like non OS-tan Moe Mascots or Personifications may be vaguely associated with OS-tans, but if they are not directly related to an OS-tan Universe, they will normally fall outside the scope of OS-tans.moe. Such examples can however usually be admitted to the sister projects Mascots.moe or Gijinkas.moe.

Only entries directly about a Moe Personification of an Operating System are allowed for Original Content. Other characters and pages for developing the Universe in which they belong may be admissible to the Moeverse Wiki.
