Edward Simons is the personification of Microsoft Word, a word-processing application created by Microsoft initially released in October 25, 1983, under the name Multi-Tool Word for the Xenix operating system. Microsoft Word is known for its user-friendly interface and features that allow users to easily create and edit professional-looking documents.
History
Ed was designed by SpacePuffer and debuted on the web in September 17, 2022, however he debuted on this site on April 7, 2023.
Character
Ed is spirited and helpful, he loves to be around people and has a strong work ethic. He is known for his impressive language and writing skills. Ed also shown a talent for leadership, like his ability to train and command his pet mice, often to counter Nix's pranks or poke fun at Axel. His favorite books are mostly folk tales and adventure stories.
Even as a wordsmith prodigy, Ed still exhibits a childish side, which is not surprising. He can become easily frustrated and anxious, particularly when others make serious grammar mistakes or if things don't go as planned. Aside of that, his dependence on friendships and connections made him afraid to be alone,

Trivia
- Ed's pet mice are a reference to the first Microsoft Mouse, released in 1983 and packaged with Microsoft Word.
- Speaking of mice, one particular green-eyed mouse that follows Ed is named Bravo. He tends to act as Ed's assistant and conscience. It seemed unclear why Bravo was so loyal to Ed and is smarter than average mice.
- Ed has a hobby for collecting paperclips and fancy stationeries, the former which seems to refer to a certain sentient paperclip. Sometimes he put googly eyes on them and pretended they are characters in his story.
