Masaki "Mac" Ryugou is the catchall personification of Apple's classic Macintosh line of computers, beginning with the original Macintosh 128K launched on January 24, 1984, and played a pivotal role in establishing desktop publishing as a general office function. It was famous for its “1984” launch commercial.

Two days after "1984" aired, the Macintosh went on sale, and came bundled with two applications designed to show off its interface: MacWrite and MacPaint. The Macintosh was the first successful mass-market all-in-one desktop personal computer with a graphical user interface, built-in screen, and mouse.

History

Mac was designed by SpacePuffer and debuted on the web in February 6, 2023, however he debuted on this site on April 12, 2023.

Character

Mac has a passion for art, design and aesthetics, and he is very attentive to detail, especially his own appearance. He loves to create minimalist artworks with monochrome colors and patterns, which he learned from his older sister Lisa. Unlike her, Mac is more proactive and outspoken, and he introduces his work to people. In contrast, Lisa can be preoccupied with thoughts and ideas.

Mac's talent for art and nonconformist personality made him favored by the Mages, who all wanted him to succeed as an artist. Even so, there is still much for Mac to learn despite their support. His impulsive emotions and pride in being "unique" sometimes cause him to get upset or even angry at people who don't seem to appreciate art like he does, though Mac slowly learns to accept different perspectives.

Trivia

  • Mac has heterochromia, one eye being light blue and the other is a medium slate blue.
  • Mac's grey hoodie, black turtleneck and blue jeans are references to the original Macintosh team's hoodie, "90 Hours/Week and Loving It" and a certain Apple person.
