Mac OS 9-tan, also known as Sonata (ソナタ) is an OS-tan that personifies Mac OS 9. She is often referred as Sonata-sensei (ソナタ先生), and is one of the most popular OS-tan of Mac operating systems. She is calm and modest, and has good relations with the Windows OS-tans such as Me-tan and XP-tan.
Character
Sonata is very much easygoing and dependable compared to Mac OS-tan, in addition to her being an older sister figure whom the OSX-kuns look up to. Her hobby is drawing and she has a good taste in art. Sonata acts as a kind mother figure compared to the brusque and strong KanjiTalk 7.5-tan, and gently manages the Mac household.
Despite Sonata's calm demeanor and her dislike of conflict, there were few records of her taking a part in the OS Wars. Her weapon during that time were either theorized as apple bombs like the ones Mac OS-tan actively uses, or firearms like Mac OS 7.5-tan. These topics are rarely discussed nowadays.
