How to format posts on the wiki

Post by Sinclair-Speccy »

Since the wiki is now live, there are going to be some users who do not know how to use MediaWiki. This post will outline the ways users should format stuff when adding it to the wiki. Expect more later here as time goes on.

Fanons
On the wiki, there is a section for users to add their fanon. This serves as more of a "directory" and users will need to format their edits in a certain way to keep it clean and neat.

Use bulleted lists when listing your fanon like this:

Code: Select all

* [[Some text here]]
The text you place in the square brackets are internal links and will not have a little redirect icon next to it. The asterisk makes it show as a bulleted list.

For the redirect for the fanon's page, you can do this in two ways:

If your fanon has a name, format it like this:

Code: Select all

[[Fanon 1]] by ~~~
The double square brackets will have your fanon name in the middle and the three tildes will add your username.

If your fanon does not have a name, format it like this:

Code: Select all

[[Username's fanon]]
Replace "Username" with your username on the wiki.

Use this to create a name list. The first row is the character (eg; 95-tan), the next row is the human name (eg; Kanoko Madobe) and the last row is nicknames, notes and any other minor information.

Code: Select all

{| class="wikitable"
|+
|-
! Character !! Human name !! Nicknames, notes, etc
|-
| Windows 1.X-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 2.x-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 3.X-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 95-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 98-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows NT-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows Neptune-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows Odyessy-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows Triton-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows XP-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows Longhorn-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows Vista-tan|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 7-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 8-kun|| Example || Example
|-
| Windows 9-tan|| Example || Example
|}
Adjust the list to have as many characters as you wish by copy and pasting this while keeping it in the existing brackets:

Code: Select all

|-
| Windows 1.X-tan|| Example || Example
|-
